Insurance Guidance for Texans
About Gilded Oak Insurance
Most people spend more time researching a television than they do reviewing their insurance. It’s not because they don’t care. It’s because the information is hard to find, harder to understand, and usually comes with a sales pitch attached.
If you’ve ever felt confused by your coverage, pressured by a sales call, or unsure whether your policy actually protects what matters most, this platform was built with you in mind.
Gilded Oak Insurance is a Texas-based insurance advisory platform led by a licensed agent. We provide clear education, honest guidance, and direct connections to licensed agents who take the time to get it right.
Who’s Behind Gilded Oak Insurance

About Me — Luke Faulkner
Licensed Texas Insurance Agent (License #1853547)
I’ve been a licensed insurance agent since 2013, beginning my career as a service representative at Safeco before moving into sales and advisory roles. Over the years, I’ve worked with dozens of carriers and written policies across auto, home, umbrella, life, health, and small commercial insurance. That experience has given me a clear, practical understanding of how coverage works — and how claims play out when it matters most.
I hold a degree in Business Management and Administration with a minor in Economics and previously served in a leadership role at Liberty Mutual Insurance. There, I managed and mentored a team of agents while also developing training and educational content. That experience shaped how I approach insurance today: breaking down complex topics, focusing on clarity, and helping people feel confident in their decisions.
Today, I work with The Knowles Agency, a primarily Allstate-branded agency, while also maintaining access to additional carriers. If I’m not the right fit for your needs, I’m always willing to connect you with another trusted local agent to keep your search moving forward.
My goal is simple: to make insurance easier to understand, easier to shop for, and easier to feel confident about — so you can move forward knowing you’re properly protected.
Why I Created Gilded Oak Insurance
I’ve spent over a decade in the insurance industry and one thing has always stood out. Most people don’t fully understand what they’re buying until they need to use it. That gap between purchasing a policy and actually understanding it is where real problems happen.
What makes it worse is that finding good guidance usually means navigating confusing policy language, aggressive lead generation, and call centers that prioritize volume over people.
Gilded Oak was built to be the alternative. Clear education, thoughtful guidance, and direct connections to licensed agents who take the time to understand your situation. That’s what this platform exists to provide.
How Gilded Oak Works
Why Insurance Education Matters in Texas
Texas presents some genuinely unique insurance challenges. Property values are rising, weather exposure is significant, and auto rates continue to shift. On top of that, policies here follow rules that catch a lot of homeowners off guard. Roof age affects settlement amounts. Deductibles are often percentage-based rather than flat dollar figures. The details matter more here than most people realize.
Good education doesn’t just make insurance easier to understand. In Texas, it can save you from some expensive surprises.
